Before your first transfer

  1. Identify both applications. A Linux application and an independently maintained mobile or Windows client may have different menus and support channels.
  2. Use a trusted local network. Being connected to the same Wi-Fi name does not prove two devices can communicate. Guest networks and managed networks may separate clients.
  3. Check the receiving device. Make sure the application is open, the destination folder is accessible, and sufficient storage is available.
  4. Send a small, non-sensitive file first. Confirm that the intended device receives it and that you can find and open the result. Then try the actual transfer.
  5. Record the symptom. “Not listed,” “connecting,” and “transfer failed” point to different stages. Changing several settings at once makes the cause harder to identify.
