On April 21, 2019 the MTA stopped the bonus program; the app will no longer take this into account.
Enter the current balance, if any, on the card and select the Fare type.
– Displayed list shows the “Reload” amount to achieve the number of rides.
– High-lighted items have “Reload” amounts that the Ticket Vending Machine will accept.
– Other amounts listed will need to be rounded up to the nearest 5 cents for the TVM to accept the transaction. If this is done, a small amount will be left on the card on your last swipe (less than 5 cents).
– Otherwise the odd amounts can be added by a MTA Booth clerk.
Money can only be loaded on the MetroCard via an MTA Ticket Vending Machine or at an MTA Booth.
