Emergency Department Wait Times & Important Contacts
You can now access real-time estimated wait times for Calgary, Edmonton, Lethbridge, Medicine Hat, and Red Deer emergency departments and urgent care centres through the AHS App.
This tool is designed to help Albertans decide where to access care for themselves and their families. Anyone needing emergency care is always reminded to call 911, or to go to the nearest emergency department.
The wait times App estimates how long it takes for patients to be seen by a physician once a triage nurse has assessed them. Wait times do not represent the total time patients may spend at the hospital or urgent care centre, or in line for triage. Please remember, we provide care to the most critical cases first.
The goal is to continue to expand this service to other areas of the province.
