Artist Profile:
ANREALAGE Designer Kunihiko Morinaga
Born in 1980 in Tokyo.

Graduated from Waseda University’s School of Social Sciences.
Attended Vantan Design Institute during university and began making clothes.
Started activities under the name “ANREALAGE” in 2003.
Won first prize in the Avant-Garde group of the Gen Art 2005 contest for new designers in New York, U.S.A.
Was included in the Tokyo Collection by 06 S/S in fall of 2005.
Awarded the Newcomer’s Award/Shiseido Encouragement Award at the 29th Mainichi Fashion Grand Prix in 2011.
Debuted in the Paris Collection by 15 S/S in 2014.
Selected as a finalist for the ANDAM Fashion Award, organized by DEFI (french clothing development promotion commission) in 2015.
Opened ANREALAGE AOYAMA store at 5 Chome Minamiaoyama in Tokyo, Japan in 2016. Opened ANREALAGE FLAGSHIP SHOP at 4 Chome Minamiaoyama in Tokyo, Japan in 2017.
Is currently holding an exhibition both in and outside of Japan entitled “A LIGHT UN LIGHT” that features works from Paris onward.

ANREALAGE
Established in 2003. The meaning of the ANREALAGE name is “A REAL” – the ordinary, “UN REAL” – the extraordinary, and “AGE” – a time period.
Designs begin with an eye on things that are a part of daily life, but that throw an unexpected kink into the ordinary flow, and of small things that would normally be overlooked.
The works feature vivid, finely-detailed patchwork created with the philosophy of “The devil is in the details.” Garments incorporate cutting-edge technology, and their unique shapes are not bound by the wearer’s physique. Currently, as presented at the Paris Collection, ANREALAGE is on sale at 50 stores both in and outside Japan.
